                                                            The Facilities

Located in the country side of Harford County, Cordelia Stables provides a quiet calming atmosphere for your horse.  The farm is family owned and operated which allows your horse to receive attentive and individualistic care. Cordelia Stables is a state of the art facility designed with the safety of the horse in mind.

Features:
- 12 x 14 stalls
- Rubber paver aisles
- CCTV in 6 stalls
- 4 privacy stalls
- Washstall
- Tackroom
- Private turnout paddocks
- Sand roundpen
- Dirt roundpen
- Keepsafe fencing
- Automatic waterers
- Run-in sheds in every field

Six of the stalls have closed circuit tv so horses needing observation can be well monitored around the clock.  The CCTV runs to monitors located in the barn manager's house, resident vet's house, operation's manager's house, and the barn offices so that horses can be closely observed when foaling, sick, or injured.

Each stall has its own window with a protective grill to allow additional outside light.  Drop down yokes are located on the sliding doors and can be left open or closed depending on the horse's need.

The aisles are lined with rubber pavers which provide a cushion and safe traction that is slip free for the horses.

Two stalls on either end of the barn are equipped with Dutch doors on the rear walls.  These doors open into two small paddocks behind the barn.  To insure their safety, horses requiring special acommodations are turned out in these private paddocks.

At Cordelia Stables, we believe that consistent handling and attention provides a foundation that will benefit the horse throughout its life and in all its future training.  Early on we teach our horses the pleasure of being groomed, hand walked, and interacting with people.

Yearlings are exposed to girthing up with a bareback pad and hand walked.

Special thanks to Art Gompf and his excellent crew at Gompf Construction for the exceptional design and craftmanship in building our facility.
